flock Wind power is an energy choice in California. A recent law allows people to choose their electical energy provider. Some can now choose to receive their energy from turbine farms like this one in the Mohave Desert. Wind power is a source of clean, renewable energy but it is not without problems. Birds of prey are particularly susceptible to collisions with the wind turbines on large industrial wind farms. The blades on the tall wind towers move so fast that the birds simply don't recognize the danger. Small scale wind turbines, attachable to individual homes, may be an affordable option in the next five to ten years.
