Chainsawing Tropical Rainforest Tree -- Ecuadorean man chainsawing virgin rainforest trees into lumber in the Choco rainforest of northwestern Ecuador. Near the Colombian border, the Choco is one of the wettest places on earth, receiving well over an inch of rain per day. The Amazon rain forest is the largest tropical forest in the world. Each year a portion of the forest equal in size to Rhode Island is lost to logging, fires and agricultural conversion.
