Add that to the fact that all slugs are hermaphrodites capable of laying eggs and the stage is set for a garden orgy - all at the expense of the gardener. Slugs create their own highways, gliding over slime trails to their food sources. But some gardeners are ending such easy access to the garden patch by laying down copper strips. These strips are proving to be highly effective barriers and offer an alternative to chemical solutions.
