Wilson's Warbler Catches Insect adult male Flycatching warblers like this Wilson's Warbler are skilled at catching insects in flight. But these neotropical migrants are finding it more difficult to find stable habitat and food supplies. Wilson's Warblers migrate to northern Alaska and Canada to breed and winter as far south as Mexico and Panama. Like other migratory birds, they are vulnerable to the loss of stopover habitat during their migratory journeys. Loss of winter habitat, environmental contaminants and increased predation when birds are forced to choose less optimal habitat are additional challenges faced by migratory species. This Wilson's Warbler is nesting near La Manche Provincial Park in Newfoundland.
