Osprey adult flying with fish, Salton Sea NWR, California The marvwlously monotypic genus Pandion consists of one remarkably sucessful nearly pan-world species. A fish-eating hawk, ospreys are found worldwide along coasts, lakes and rivers except for some very remote islands and Antarctica. Ospreys plunge dive after fish and may also attempt to steal fish from the talons of other ospreys.
